Corporate Executives

Dr. Wayne Wei-Ming Dai founded VeriSilicon in August 2001 and has served as the chairman of the board of directors, President and Chief Executive Officer since then. Prior to VeriSilicon, Dr. Dai was the Co-Chairman and Chief Technology Officer of Celestry Technologies, Inc., an EDA company, which was acquired by Cadence Design Systems in 2002. Prior to that, he was the founder, chairman of the board of directors, and Chief Executive Officer of Ultima Interconnect Technology, Inc., one of the predecessor companies to Celestry.

Dr. Dai was the founding Chairman of the IEEE Multi-Chip Module Conference and the founding Chairman of IEEE Symposium on IC/Package Design Integration. He was an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems and an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on VLSI Systems. He has published over 100 papers in technical journals and conferences and received the NSF Presidential Young Investigator Award from the President of United States in 1990. He was elected as one the top ten venture-backed entrepreneurs in China in 2005, and elected as one of the 2005 top ten talents of science and technology in China. In 2007, he was recognized as The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in China. He is currently the president of Berkeley Shanghai Club.

Dr. Dai received his B.A. degree in Computer Science and his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, both from the University of California at Berkeley. He was a professor in the department of Computer Engineering at the University of California at Santa Cruz.

Robert (Bob) Brown has served as our Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since April 2015. Prior to joining us, Mr. Brown was Vice President, Business Development at Cadence Design Systems from 2014 to 2015 with responsibility for mergers, acquisitions and strategic investments. Prior to that, Mr. Brown was with LSI Corporation (formerly LSI Logic) for over 13 years, serving the last 9 of those years as Vice President, Treasurer with responsibility for the Treasury, Tax and Corporate Development functions until the company’s acquisition by Avago in 2014. Earlier, he served as Vice President, Financial Planning and Treasurer at GetThere, an internet travel company, which completed an IPO on NASDAQ in 1999 and was later acquired by Sabre. Prior to GetThere, Mr. Brown served in various financial roles with Hewlett-Packard, LaSalle Partners Ltd., and Security Pacific National Bank.

Mr. Brown received his bachelor of science in business from Miami University and his master of business administration from the University of Michigan.

Wei-Jin Dai has served as our Executive Vice President and General Manager of Intellectual Property Division, as well as Chief Strategy Officer since December 2015. Wei-Jin has more than 30 years of experience managing business and product development, including as President & CEO of Vivante Corporation before it merged with VeriSilicon. At Vivante, he oversaw the development of industry-leading GPU IP, VISION Processor IP, and Display IP products used in automotive, IoT platforms, entertainment systems and mobile devices. Vivante under Wei-Jin's leadership has grown to more than 50 customers, and has shipped over 300 million units. Before joining Vivante, Wei-Jin was Corporate Vice President at Cadence Design Systems’ leading Digital Implementation System Division for the Encounter product line, which was acquired along with the company Wei-Jin co-founded, Silicon Perspective Corporation. Silicon Perspective Corporation developed the industry-leading First Encounter virtual prototyping systems.  Prior to Silicon Perspective, Wei-Jin managed product development at Quickturn Design Systems, a leader in emulation technology, and held engineering and management positions at Hewlett Packard and Lucent Bell Labs.

Wei-Jin holds M.S. and B.S. Degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of California, Berkeley.

Haocheng (Victor) Fan has served as our Senior Vice President and General Manager of Custom Silicon Division since December 2015. In this capacity, he is responsible for all of our turnkey ASIC and design services activities, including logistic operations. He had held management positions with the Project Management Office since joining us in 2011. Prior to joining us, Mr. Fan was a senior manager of the hardware department of RealVision, Inc., which develops display-related products based on SoC technology from 2007 to 2011.

Mr. Fan received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a master’s degree in micro-electronics circuits and systems from Shanghai Jiatong University.

David Jarmon has served as our Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Business Development since December 2015. David has more than 20 years of experience in semiconductor design services and automation. Previously Vice President of Customer-Driven R&D at Cadence Design Systems, David has also played key roles at multiple successful startups, including VP of Global Sales at Silicon Perspective and Managing Director of Japan Operations at Cooper and Chyan Technology.

Rui Wang has served as our Senior Vice President and General Manager of China since July 2016. He was successively the East China sales director and Vice President of China sales since joined us in April 2007. Prior to joining VeriSilicon, Mr. Wang worked for several US public listed IC companies, e.g. Marvell, TranSwitch and Mindspeed, etc, taking part in sales management and technical support in China region. He has also held sales and marketing positions of Greater China region at Crimson Microelectronics, a US Start-up semiconductor company. Earlier, he was a senior hardware design engineer at ZTE.
Mr. Wang holds his M.S and B.S degrees in engineering from Chongqing University.
