Hantro VC8000D 4K Decoder Architecture

The Hantro Video Codec VC8000D multi-format Decoder enables 4K video decoding with a single core solution capable of decoding up to 60fps. Hantro VC8000D supports 10-bit profiles for HEVC (H.265) and H.264 as well as Google’s VP9 Profile 2 that uses a 10-bit 4:2:0 sampling format.

Google’s WebM Project is a web media project dedicated to the development of open video formats for the web, which introduced their VP9 Profile 2 in 2014. VP9 Profile 2 uses a 10-bit 4:2:0 sampling format to address today’s industry requirements for higher precision content.
