VeriSilicon HD video platforms are based on market leading Hantro Video IP products and extensive VeriSilicon pre-and post–processing libraries. Pre-productized SoC platforms enable quick turnaround times from a customer specification to fully functional, customized SoC design - for example in a HD video enabled tablet or smart TV.

VeriSilicon provides a fast FPGA prototyping environment for SoC design implementation and verification. Our leading-edge FPGA environment is designed for complex multimedia systems and include all required IP blocks, such as a quad-core ARM processor, Vivante GPU, Hantro HD video encoder and decoder, camera interface and display controller), ZSP HD audio sub-system and all necessary interface IP (DDR3, SATA2, etc.).

The board runs on Linux 2.6.3x, 3.0.8 as well as Android 2.3/4.0. Video applications can be easily created using the pre-integrated Gstreamer framework or Android StageFright, respectively.

  • Configurability: Hantro multi-format Video IP products support all the common video formats used in the market. With the built-in smart RTL configurability, the video IP design can be silicon area optimized for a specific customer use case.
  • Scalability: Hantro Video IP designs are scalable from HD720p to 4k resolution, allowing silicon area and performance optimization based on target application requirements.
  • Hantro Video IP comes with industry standard OpenMax IL API interface complying with the Android platform requirements.

  • KEY VIDEO USES CASES FOR SMART TV SOC ARE:
  • Broadcast/IPTV video channel decoding: multi-channel 1080p H.264, MPEG-2, VC-1 and VP8 video playback with Hantro G1 Video Decoder. Hantro G1 has multi-stream support - it enables two or more video channels to be decoded simultaneously using the same hardware accelerator.
  • Real-time communications: Skype or WebRTC video call/conferencing over internet is enabled with Hantro H1 Video Encoder and G1 Video Decoder either using H.264 or VP8 video format.
  • Home content distribution: G1 Video Decoder and Hantro H1 Video Encoder enable low latency transcoding of received broadcast video channels allowing the content distribution to other devices in your home network, such as tablets or smart phones.
